This is the official page of the Colorado Blues Jam Post... by far the most comprehensive & detailed listing of these events.

It's a BLUES thing, I do not include generic open mic's in the listings.  The post is free, both to subscribers and venues, my way of givin' something back.  Published once a month, sometimes less frequently, with an occasional Special Edition.

There is always some editorial content before the jam listings, my opinion only... not a reflection of the viewpoint of any other entity that may show up here on Harmonica Planet.  There are a handful of reasonable guidelines for venues to follow (see below), but other than that there is no obligation.

Venues:

This is a freebie that is proven to drive paying customers through your doors year after year.  I don't ask much in return but do need a little something.

  • BLUES jams only.  No "open mic's", exceptions are rare.  I usually check the event personally, or verify it with a local friend before adding it.

  • You need to send timely updates in regard to changes or cancellations.

  • You must subscribe to the post if your venue has a listing.  This serves as a reminder for you to provide updates, and also plugs you directly into what's happening elsewhere in the Colorado blues jam scene.
I also ask that you allow me to do a couple things at your venue:

1.  I may want to place a signup sheet for this post next to the jam signup when I attend.

2.  I might ask to put up a poster somewhere in your place for the Greeley Blues Jam  (the GBJ is an annual 2 day blues festival in Greeley).  You're welcome to take it down right after the event date.  Yeah, you might loose a couple customers the weekend of the GBJ... but you gain maybe 10 to 20X more over the course of the year... a pretty good trade!  Click the GBJ tab on this website for more info on this GREAT blues festival.

I am seeking new jams to list that are further away from the Front Range, or are juuust across the border in other states.   Pssst... Cheyenne!

You must include the location, time, date(s), & band name... the more of the below info you provide the better:

Address   Web address   Phone#   Directions   All ages?   Do you serve food?   Electric or acoustic?   What gear the band provides (PA, drum kit, keys, harp rig etc...)   Type of crowd   Venue history   Parking info

These are important details for the people who may want to attend, some will not be applicable in all situations.  I can you send a copy of the post so you can see the format.  Likely I'll edit, but you are welcome to include anything that may be unique to your particular function.
